Demscape was a by-product of the personal experience of losing a loved one due to dementia, whilst also doing a degree that needed a project as part of the dissertation.

The degree provided the opportunity to create this site but the reason for it was a lack of information and engagement within health care settings. It was hard to get simple, jargon free information – this made caring for and understanding the condition difficult.

Demscape is not going to replace the information provided by large charities or the NHS but it will hopefully provide a more friendly environment for you to learn some basic information about dementia. We will provide links to other organisations to allow you to do as much research as needed.
